Summer Wars

Wohooo... it is time to review an anime. This time I'm going to discuss an anime movie called "Summer Wars". For all of you who live in a country with low bandwidth might wonder whether it is worth the time waiting to download this anime, thus I hope after you read my article about Summer Wars you readers might watch this title.

The story start with introduction to the virtual world called OZ, which look similar to Digital worlds from old anime Digimon combined with the widely known MMO life simulation in US, The Second Life; e-bay, and many other feature in real world. OZ is widely used by people around the world even company, organization, and government use it for their activities such as business transaction, paying bills, controlling water pressure, even military stuff. For some of the readers who wonders about why the director start it with the intro about OZ instead go to the main chara or story? Well, Summer Wars story has a lot of connection to the OZ.

One of the main character of Summer wars is Kenji, a high school student who is very good at math,but bad with girls. The story of the male character started with he and his friends working for OZ through virtual world using their avatar in OZ, they are working part time for OZ as their system maintenance for summer using their school club room as their workplace, then suddenly their senior, who is the most beautiful girl in their high school and the other main character in this story named Natsuki, come into the room offers one of them part time jobs which is to follow her to go to visit her grandmother in country side for Natsuki's grandmother's Birthday . Kenji then accept Natsuki's offer to go with her to Natsuki's grandmother house without knowing the details of his jobs.

During Kenji visits to the Natsuki's grandmother, he found out that his senior is descendant of samurai clan who had served one of the highly known japans' general during the Japan's civil war and Natsuki's grandmother has a lot of influential in Japan's Government and Business. After Kenji meet with his senior's grandmother, he finally knows that his part time jobs is to pretends become Natsuki's boyfriend during the whole trips.

That night after Kenji arrives at Natsuki's grandmother house, our main character receives an e-mail send to his OZ account by a mysterious sender, it contains bunch of numbers. Since he is bored, he decided to solve what is the meaning behind the number, when he found out the answer, he send the answer back to the sender of this mysterious e-mail. However, this naive boy hasn't realized that the mail he just sent would end up making disaster to the world because apparently the one who send him the mysterious e-mail is an A.I. which is built to hack anything in its way. Furthermore, The A.I. wants to destroy human worlds through OZ, now its up to Kenji and Natsuki's whole family helping him to stop this berserk A.I.

Overall, the story is similar to Digimon, but it has more drama twist on it. I would highly recommend this movie to all of you who likes family drama and adventure with a touch of romance and futuristic sci-fi. For anime lovers, I don't hold yourselves, you've got to watch this anime since you won't want to miss this title.
